I'm about to get started on replacing tub and tub surround. Due to design of bathroom especially tub area which has a window that comes in the shower area on right wall (opposite of shower head and on outer side) about 4 feet up and inward about 1 foot have decided against stud mount surround. Because having to cut that section out and most I have seen has a design (molding) on the outer edges and afraid of what it may look like against the window trim.
